Refund Policy
SMARTDESK IT SOLUTIONS (PTY) LTD trades online as SmartDeskit, a South African ecommerce technology store.

This Refund and Return Policy explains how cancellations, returns, exchanges, warranty assessments and refunds are handled for products purchased from SmartDeskit. This policy is intended to align with applicable South African consumer protection law, including the Consumer Protection Act where applicable.
Order cancellations
Customers may request cancellation before goods are dispatched, before a supplier order has been processed, before a digital licence is issued, or before any agreed service work has started. If payment has already been made and the cancellation is approved, the refund will be processed using the original payment method where possible.
After dispatch
If an order has already been dispatched, delivered, installed, configured, activated or specially ordered, the return process and supplier approval conditions may apply.
Returns
Customers may request a return where the incorrect item was supplied, the product arrived damaged, the product is defective, or the product materially differs from the product ordered. Return requests should be made within 7 days of delivery unless a longer period is required by law or warranty terms.
Return condition
Returned products must be complete, unused where applicable, in original packaging and include all accessories, manuals, warranty documents and proof of purchase. SmartDeskit may inspect returned products before approving a refund, exchange or warranty claim.
Non-returnable items
The following items may not qualify for return or refund unless defective or legally required: opened or activated software licences, downloadable digital products, special-order items, custom-built products, consumables, items damaged through misuse, incomplete products, products altered by unauthorised parties, and services or labour already completed.
Faulty, damaged or DOA products
Customers should report damaged, faulty or dead-on-arrival products as soon as possible, preferably within 48 hours of delivery, and provide photos or a clear description of the issue. Products may be sent for supplier or manufacturer assessment. Approved outcomes may include repair, replacement, store credit or refund depending on the assessment and stock availability.
Exchanges
Exchanges are subject to stock availability and return approval. Any price difference may be payable by the customer.
Return shipping costs
Unless the return is due to SmartDeskit error or a confirmed defect, customers may be responsible for return courier costs. We recommend using a trackable courier service.
Refund refusals
Refunds or returns may be refused where products show misuse, physical damage, missing packaging or accessories, unauthorised repair, altered serial numbers, expired return windows or suspected fraudulent activity.
Refund processing
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method where possible. Refund processing may take 7 to 14 business days after approval, and bank or payment provider processing times may apply. Courier charges, banking fees or lawful restocking fees may be deducted where applicable.
